thursday

this time we took an airplane. every aspect of leaving new york was flawless. the pilot even apologized for arriving in jacksonville twenty minutes early. but we quickly lost all that time by driving up and down US HWY 82 sort of looking for a wal-mart. mikey met us at the edge of the hostel road and came for a ride. it was alot further than we had expected. and it was a winn-dixie. so we bought breakfast and lunch supplies and then finally made our way into the forest.

take the hostel tour

take the dayna tour

tour is the first thing you do. mikey took us on the offical tour. i like seeing him in action.

mikey, mountain man.

after the tour and settling in, we did what i was hoping we would do...

after swimming it was time to get to know some people.
so we hung out in the screen room till dinner.

my old man

where are you from?

playing cards and drinking beers out of jars with new friends.

then we went night swimming. in the dark, completely free. the difference between nite and day that stands out for me is floating peacefully upon your back (as only a girl can properly do.) during the day your eyes are closed. the sky is too bright. at nite your eyes can open, and the stars are out as full as they can be, amongst life in the distance. and on my first nite out i saw a shooting star. so did everyone else.
